
Oilers Sign Safin to Entry-Level Contract

SAINT JOHN - Forward Ostap Safin has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers.
The Oilers made the announcement this week.
Safin, 19, is in his first year with the Sea Dogs. The native of Prague, Czech Republic leads the team with 24 goals and 53 points in 56 games. He's also tied for the team lead in assists with 29. He posted a goal and two assists in seven games with the Czech Republic at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, New York.
He was selected by the Oilers in the fourth round (115th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
