
Oilers Sign Benson

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate captain Tyler Benson on signing a three-year entry level NHL contract with the Edmonton Oilers.
Benson leads the Giants in scoring this season with 40 points in 31 games. The Edmonton native is currently on a six-game point streak and has tallied two goals and 17 assists in Vancouver's last 12 games. Earlier this season, Benson was named an alternate captain for Team WHL and participated in the CIBC Canada/Russia Series along with teammate Ty Ronning.
The Oilers drafted Benson in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft at 32nd overall. He was selected first overall by the Giants in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
