Oilers Shut Out in Quad City

Tulsa Oilers News Release

MOLINE, IL - Quad City scored a goal in each period and Neil Conway turned aside 16 shots as the Oilers fell to the Mallards 3-0 at i wireless Center on Saturday night. The Oilers dropped both weekend contests to the Mallards and lost their eighth straight overall. Tulsa road losing streak is now at nine games as the Oilers fell to 1-9-0 in the month of December.

Former Oiler Patrik Levesque opened the scoring at 16:20 of the first period when he muscled his way to the front of the Tulsa net and slid the puck under Oilers goalie Shane Madolora.

Matt Boyd scored his second goal in as many nights when he found a lane to the crease at 16:03 of the second period. Boyd's backhand beat Madolora to give the Mallards a 2-0 cushion.

With just four minutes left in the third, Anthony Perdicaro blasted a rebound past Madolora to put the contest out of reach.

Madolora, who made his Oilers and CHL debut, turned aside 26 shots and was the fourth different Oilers goaltender to start in the last four games. Conway, making his first appearance for the Mallards after being waived by Rapid City, wasn't tested by the Oilers who have now been outshot in 11 of their last 12 games.

With the victory, Mallards Head Coach Terry Ruskowski recorded his 600th professional win.

The Oilers will take three days off for a Christmas break before returning home on December 26 to open a three-game homestand against the Fort Worth Brahmas.
