Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK- The Central Hockey League held their awards banquet at the league meetings earlier this week where they handed out various team and individual awards. Among the winners was Oilers general manager Corey MacIntyre, who was named the CHL Executive of the Year.

"The main requirement that we have for the award is leadership," said CHL president Brad Treliving. "Over the course of one season, Corey has really established himself as one of the premier leaders in the Central Hockey League.

MacIntyre took over as general manager of the Oilers in July of 2002 and, under his guidance; the Oilers were one of just a few minor league hockey teams that saw an increase in their attendance from the previous year. Last season, the Oilers averaged 4,853 fans per game, compared to 4,333 during the 2001-2002 season.

"Corey's award comes as no surprise to me," said Oilers owner Jeff Lund. "His commitment to excellence, focus to detail, and his dedications and hard work make him very deserving of the award. We are very proud of Corey and his accomplishments.
