Oilers Fall In Final Moments Against Rattlers

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, lost a close game against the Arizona Rattlers by a final score of 53-46.

Arizona scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, but Tulsa responded with a score of their own via a 15-yard touchdown run by QBVincent Espinoza, a missed extra point would make the game 7-6 Rattlers after one possession for each team. With 5:41 left in the first, Arizona connected on their second touchdown pass of the game, making the score 14-6 and then followed it up with a deuce off the kickoff to take a 16-6 lead to end the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Arizona picked up a 6-yard touchdown pass via Isaiah Huston with 7:08 remaining in the half. Tulsa would rejuvenate their offense with a Damion May 19-yard touchdown reception with 4:46 remaining in the second to make the score 23-13 Arizona. The Oilers would add more with a 31-yard pass and score toJoshua Crockett,bringing the deficit to just 23-20 with 1:23 left in the half. The Rattlers recorded the last score of the half on a 6-yard touchdown pass with 0:15 left to make it 30-20 at the end of two quarters.

The second half opened with an onside kick attempt by Arizona that was recovered by Tulsa, setting them up for an eventual 3-yard touchdown reception from Crockett to get the game back to 30-27 Arizona.Tulsa'sJeremy Reynold would add a 47-yard field goal with 7:45 left in the third quarter to tie the game 30-30. The Rattlers regained the lead with 5:46 remaining in the third, scoring a touchdown on a 3-yard rush. Tulsa gained a 37-36 lead in response via Jo-El Shaw's 13-yard touchdown reception with 2:16 left in the quarter.

The final quarter would see a back-and-forth effort leading to a tie game at 46-46. Arizona's Seyvon Lowry would take an interception to the house with 0:04 seconds left in the game to finish the night with a final score of 53-46 in favor of the Rattlers.

The Oilers head on the road to take on the Sioux Falls Storm on May 6, kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Tulsa's next home game will be Saturday, May 13,against the Frisco Fighters. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
