
Oilers Begin Texas Trip Tonight in Laredo

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League will begin a three-game Texas road trip tonight when they make their first-ever visit to Laredo for a game against the Bucks. The Oilers (30-16-5) currently are in first place in the Northwest Division with 65 points, while the Bucks (32-12-6) are in second place in the Southeast Division with 70 points. Tonight's contest begins at 7:30 and can be heard on the radio at AM 1300 The Score, or on the Internet at www.tulsaoilers.com.
Tonight's game will feature three of the top scorers in the CHL in Laredo's Eric Schneider and Chris Greenville, and Tulsa's Todd Marcellus. Schneider ranks second in the league with 79 points (37-42-79) while Marcellus ranks third with 74 points (32-42-74). Greenville ranks fourth with 73 points (32-41-73).
Tulsa has made a couple of roster moves heading into tonight's game. They have placed defenseman Mike Johnson on the 14-day injured reserve list with a sore wrist and have activated forward Justin Ossachuk off of injured reserve. Ossachuk has missed the last seven games with a knee injury.
After tonight's game, the Oilers will visit two other potential Southern Conference playoff teams when they travel to Corpus Christi (24-24-2) on Friday and Austin (39-8-3) on Saturday.
Tulsa's next home game will be on Wednesday, February 26th, when they host the Indianapolis Ice. Tickets for next Wednesday's game are available at local Drug Marts, the Tulsa Convention Center Box Office, the Oilers office, or by phone at 584-2000.
