
Oil Kings Set to Open Training Camp

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are preparing to embark on the 2010-2011 Western Hockey League season by hosting their rookie and main training camps, starting this week. About 80 players will compete at rookie camp, while about 50 will attend main camp.
Rookie camp begins Thursday with registration and fitness testing at Body By Bennett, and on-ice sessions run Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Jubilee Rec Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. Notable players attending this year's rookie camp include Oil Kings 2009 first-round bantam draft pick Griffin Reinhart and 2010 first-round draft pick Curtis Lazar.
Main camp registration and fitness testing is scheduled for Saturday at Body By Bennett, and on-ice sessions run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Jubilee Rec Centre. Notable players at main camp include Oil Kings 2009-2010 MVP and Buffalo Sabres 2010 first-round draft pick Mark Pysyk, as well as Oil Kings 2009-2010 leading scorer Michael St. Croix, and 2010 Team USA under-18 national team player Keegan Lowe.
Schedules for the Oil Kings rookie and main camps, as well as the fourth annual Preseason Invitational in St Albert, are listed below. The Oil Kings invite all media to attend the upcoming camps for photo and interview opportunities. Media availability during the camps is scheduled following each on-ice session (practices, games) and camp rosters will be available at the Jubilee Rec Centre (10013 - 96 Ave).
