
Oil Kings City Hall Celebration Wednesday

Edmonton, AB - The Western Hockey League Champion Edmonton Oil Kings will be closing the final chapter in the team's best season in modern franchise history Wednesday May 30th at City Hall. The City of Edmonton will be hosting a Civic Celebration honouring the team and its success in 2011-2012. The team will be on hand for a special ceremony at City Hall that will include Mayor Steven Mandel and other Edmonton dignitaries Wednesday May 30, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Team Captain Mark Pysyk as well as Oil Kings GM Bob Green and Head Coach Derek Laxdal are all expected to speak. Following the formal part of ceremony, players will break out into street hockey and autograph sessions with the fans.
All Oil Kings fans are encouraged to wear red, bring their playoff pom poms and drop by City Hall over the lunch hour to participate in the Grand Finale of what will go down as one of the best Oil Kings seasons of all-time.
