Offensive Outburst Carries Riders to First Win of the Season

FRISCO, Texas - After two quiet games at the plate to begin the season, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers used an offensive barrage to pummel the Springfield Cardinals 10-2 in the finale of a three-game series Saturday at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
BIG MOMENTS
The Riders set the tone right away, scoring five runs in the first inning and chasing Springfield starter Austin Gomber from the game before the end of the frame. Frisco tallied another big inning with a four-run seventh. Juremi Profar opened the frame with a long home run to left field. Isiah Kiner-Falefa clubbed his first career home run in the fourth inning. Kiner-Falefa finished the night 2-4, adding an RBI double in the first inning as well. Left-hander Yohander Mendez earned his first victory of the season, striking out four over five innings. Frisco righty James Dykstra struck out six batters over three perfect innings of relief.

NEWS AND NOTES
All nine hitters collected at least one hit and six registered multi-hit performances. Kiner-Falefa's three hits this season have all been for extra bases (two doubles, one home run). He leads the team with five RBIs. Jose Trevino, Scott Heineman, and Eric Aguilera extended their hitting streaks to three games. The bullpen worked four scoreless innings Saturday and has not allowed an earned run through 17 2/3 innings.
