The Calgary Stampeders have added international offensive lineman John Estes to the practice roster.
Estes signed with the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010 and remained with the club through the 2012 season. He was with the Arizona Cardinals in 2014 and attended training camp with the BC Lions in 2014 and 2015.
Estes played four seasons (2006-09) at the University of Hawaii and was named first team all-Western Athletic Conference in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He was named one of the six finalists for the Rimington Award as the top centre in college football during his senior season.
The Stockton, Calif., product started all 54 games over his four years - a school record - and was a team captain in 2009. He started at right guard as a freshman before moving to centre during his sophomore season.
