Offensive Explosion Triggers Sky Carp Win

PEORIA, Ill. - Just one day after the Sky Carp exploded for 11 runs against South Bend, the team had plenty left for an encore presentation Wednesday afternoon.

The Sky Carp pounded the Cubs 19-4 in an incredible display of offensive might. The team finished the game 18 hits, including six home runs.

Joe Mack was the star in a game full of them, finishing the contest with 4-for-6 with seven runs batted in including a grand slam.

Josh Zamora had his second big game in a row, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. Brett Roberts was a triple shy of the cycle, and Mark Coley finished with three hits, including his second home run in as many days since joining the squad.

Jacob Miller went the first 4 1-3 innings on the mound and allowed just one run, while a trio of Sky Carp relievers finished things off on a breezy, cool day at ABC Supply Stadium.

Yeuris Jimenez (1-0) was credited with the win after allowing a run in 1 1-3 innings. The Sky Carp moved to 4-0 at home on the season.

The Sky Carp and Cubs will meet again Thursday at 6:35 p.m. It's Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark, with fans receiving discounted beverages all evening long!
