Offense Comes Alive as Jays Take Series against Cards

DUNEDIN, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays (7-5) used a season-high ten runs on a season-high 15 hits to defeat the Palm Beach Cardinals (8-4) Monday night 10-3. CF Jonathan Davis' three run home run aided in RHP Tom Robson's (W, 1-1) first win of the season.

The Blue Jays struck first with a LF David Harris two-out two-RBI-single to right field in the second. Meanwhile, Robson found his rhythm with the fastball, topping out at 94 mph. He struck out four over five innings in which he gave up just one run.

In the bottom of the fifth, RHP Pedro Etchemendia relieved starter LHP Ian McKinney (L, 1-1), inheriting a pair of runners. RF Emilio Guerrero roped one of his two doubles followed by the Davis homer, giving Dunedin a 6-1 lead. A pair of RBI base hits by SS Richard Urena and 3B Jason Leblebijian in the sixth extended the lead to seven. Urena, Leblebijian and Davis all collected three base hits on Monday night.

1B Ryan McBroom saw his 11-game hit streak come to an end despite drawing two walks. Dunedin heads to Tampa for a three game set beginning on Tuesday. LHP Ryan Borucki will start the opener for Dunedin. RHP Chance Adams goes for the Yankees.
