The Braves and Suns played a tight one Thursday night with the Suns getting the one-run win for a 2-1 lead in this series. 3,820 fans watched Matt Harrison and Justin Orenduff battle it out with Orenduff prevailing for his sixth win of '07. Harrison pitched well, but gave up two runs in the fifth that cost him a win.
Jacksonville broke through in the fifth when Juan Gonzalez drew a two-out walk and scored from first on a double by James Tomlin. Tomlin scored one batter later when Cory Dunlap shot a single through the right side.
The M-Braves cut the lead in half in the sixth after J.C. Holt led off with a triple. Carl Loadenthal singled to right to score Holt and put Mississippi on the board.
Mississippi put runners at the corners with one out in the eighth, but couldn't tie the score.
Matt Harrison pitched well even though he suffered the loss in this one. He gave up two runs on seven hits while fanning eight in six innings. Brad Nelson and Charlie Morton combined to throw three scoreless innings.
Jacksonville's Justin Orenduff got the start for the Suns and gave up a run on five hits in seven innings of work. He left the game with a 2-1 lead. Cory Wade held the Braves off the scoreboard for two innings and Ramon Troncoso pitched a shutout ninth to record his third save.
The Braves and Suns play game four of this five-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 at Trustmark Park. Lefty Kelvin Villa (6-7, 5.29) is set to take the hill for the M-Braves while lefty Mike McGrew (6-6, 5.63) will go for the Suns. The first 1,500 fans at Trustmark Park will receive a Southwest Airlines Replica Jersey Cinch Sack prior to the game and everyone can enjoy the Friday Night Fireworks Extravaganza after the game.

* J.C. Holt went 3-5 with a single, a double, and a triple, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. * Matt Harrison struck out eight, but gave up two runs and fell to 5-6 on the season. * Carl Loadenthal went 3-4 with three singles and a stolen base ... Loady's stolen base was his 33rd of the year extending his M-Braves record and pushing back on top of the league leader board. * The Braves one and two batters, Holt and Loadenthal, combined to go 6-8 in the game. Only one other M-Brave got a hit.
