JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of fullback / offensive Lineman Javan Christian who signs on for his second year of arena football and first with the Sharks.

Christian (6'1, 290) from Orange Park spent his rookie year as an offensive lineman with the Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League. This is the second local FB/OL product that Coach Fuller has signed for 2020, earlier in the off-season the Sharks re-signed FB/OL Jaeel Brown (6'2, 307) from Starke, FL both dual-purpose lineman will compete in the Sharks 2020 training camp along with Sharks fullback Alstevis Squirewell and LB/FB Zack Brown. Last season the Sharks had the best rushing offense in the league. Jacksonville led the NAL in rushing touchdowns (25), and 1st Team All-NAL rusher Alstevis Squirewell led all fullbacks in rushing attempts (51), yards (163), and touchdowns (9). Now with the depth assembled for 2020, it's likely Jacksonville looks to repeat that success this season.

Prior to his pro career, Christian played for Webber International University where he served alongside quarterback Garry Chouloute, who started the season with the Orlando Predators and finished the season with the Jacksonville Sharks. During Christian's career at Webber, he played on the offensive line starting in 12 games for the Warriors. Christian is originally from Fairbanks, Alaska but grew up in Jacksonville, FL where he played high school football at Oakleaf in Orange Park.
