
Oakland Roots Sign Norwegian Winger Mikael Tørset Johnsen On-Loan from Venezia F.C. of Serie A

Oakland, CA - Oakland Roots today announce the signing of Mikael Tørset Johnsen on loan from Venezia F.C. of Serie A. Johnsen comes to Oakland Roots for the duration of the 2022 season.
"We are excited to welcome in another young talent from Venezia," said Technical Director Jordan Ferrell. "Mikael brings additional quality to move the ball quickly in our midfield, along with his experience playing with and against top competition."
Johnsen got his start in the ¬â¹ ¬â¹Rosenborg BK academy in Norway before making his professional debut for the club at 19-years-old in April of 2019. After impressing in his showings, Johnsen was subsequently loaned to the famed Feyenoord youth side in 2020 and FC Dordrecht in 2021, in the Netherlands. Following a second loan spell with Feyenoord, Johnsen was transferred to the Dutch side ahead of the 2021-22 season. In late February 2022, Venezia F.C. of Serie A signed Johnsen on a free transfer, before loaning the young prospect to Oakland Roots for the 2022 USL Championship season.
