Rio Grande Valley FC's Emilio Ycaza Named to USL Team of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - Rio Grande Valley FC's Emilio Ycaza was today selected to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 1 of the regular season. Ycaza's performance in the Toros' 1-0 win against Oakland Roots SC at H-E-B Park saw him earn a place on the bench in the 18-player selection.
Ycaza played a key role in RGV FC's opening-night victory as he provided the assist on Frank Lopez's goal in the 34th minute. Returning to the Toros' squad this season, the Florida native also recorded five chances created and completed three dribbles - both game highs - and completed 38 of 44 passes (86% accuracy rate) as the Toros won their home opener for a second consecutive season.
RGV FC will be back in action this Saturday night as it visits defending USL Championship title holder Orange County SC at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN+. The club's next home game is scheduled for Sunday, March 27 as the Toros host South Texas Derby rival San Antonio FC at H-E-B Park at 6:30 p.m. CT.
