
Nuts Launch Three Homers in 10-7 Win

Stockton, CA. - Drew Weeks led the Modesto Nuts' offensive attack in their 10-7 victory against the Stockton Ports on Sunday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
Weeks drove in four runs as part of a 4-for-5 night against the Ports (10-14; 37-57). After the Nuts (9-15; 35-59) surrendered a run in the first, they put up five in the second thanks to a pair of homers. Weeks launched a two-run shot, his second of the series and third of the road trip. Omar Carrizales capped the rally with a two-out, three-run homer against Ports' starter Brett Graves (L, 4-8).
Graves went five-plus innings allowing seven runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
Jose Brizuela tied the game in the fourth with a solo home run off Nuts starter Helmis Rodriguez who worked four innings and surrendered five runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Troy Neiman (W, 3-3) entered the game out of the 'pen for the Nuts in the fifth and worked two perfect innings before dancing around a pair of singles in his third frame of relief. He struck out three and allowed just two singles.
Shane Hoelscher broke the tie in the sixth with a RBI single. Josh Fuentes drilled a homer in the seventh. Weeks added some insurance in the ninth with a two-run double.
Luis Niebla (S, 4/4) worked around a leadoff single with two strikeouts to secure the Nuts' fifth straight win against the Ports in the second half.
