LANCASTER, Calif. - The California League announced this morning that JetHawks outfielder Ramon Laureano has been named the California League's Player of the Week for the week of July 11-17.

During the week, Laureano hit .652 (15x23) with six doubles, two triples, four home runs and a 2.301 OPS (.692 OBP/1.609 SLG) in seven games. He added 11 RBI, 11 runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases.

Laureano ranked atop the Cal League in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, extra-base hits (12), total bases (37), doubles and runs scored. He tied for first in home runs and RBI, and ranked second in triples.

The week included a multi-homer game on his birthday (July 15), one of which came against San Francisco Giants starter Matt Cain, who was pitching on a rehab assignment with San Jose. Laureano finished the game 4-for-5 and added two doubles.

Laureano recorded multi-hit games in all six of his starts during the week. In the only game he did not start, the now 22-year-old delivered a two-out pinch-hit double in the top of the ninth inning at Rancho Cucamonga on July 16. The two-run double drove in the tying and go-ahead runs in Lancaster's 7-4 come-from-behind win. The comeback victory marked Lancaster's seventh consecutive win, matching the club's season-high winning streak.

Laureano heads into the new week riding a personal season-best 13-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .500 (24x48) with a 1.522 OPS (.549 OBP/.938 SLG). He has raised his batting average from .281 to .315 over his last 13 games.

Overall in 2016, Lauerano leads the California League in OBP (.421), OPS (.942) and runs scored (69). He ranks tied for first with 33 stolen bases and is second in the league with 60 RBI and 49 walks. His .315 batting average leads the JetHawks and is the fourth-best in the circuit.

Laureano is the second JetHawk to earn Player of the Week honors this season. Outfielder Jason Martin was the Player of the Week for the week of May 23-29.

The announcement marks the second-straight week in which a JetHawk's weekly performance has been recognized. Right-hander Rogelio Armenteros was named the Pitcher of the Week for July 4-10.
