
Nuts Give up Four-Run Lead in Fourth Straight Loss

Visalia, C.A. - After taking an early lead, the Modesto Nuts surrendered eight unanswered runs in an 8-4 loss to the Visalia Rawhide at Recreation Park on Thursday night.
Collin Fergueson crushed a solo home run in the second. The Nuts (8-12) then plated three runs in the third. Wes Rogers cracked a two-run single and Luis Jean beat out a RBI infield single.
Ryan Castellani (L, 0-1) worked six innings for the Nuts but allowed nine hits and five runs. He issued three walks in the third leading to three runs. In the fifth, the Rawhide (14-6) took their first lead. Rudy Flores delivered a RBI groundout to tie the game as part of a five RBI day. He would power a two-run homer in the seventh. Dawell Lugo added a two-out, go-ahead RBI single to complete the three-game sweep of the Nuts
Nick Backer (W, 2-0) tossed three shutout innings for the Rawhide out of the bullpen with six strikeouts as the Rawhide staff K'ed 18 Nuts.
