
Nuts Fall 10-4 in Series Opener

Visalia, CA. - Big innings sink Ryan Castellani and the Modesto Nuts in a 10-4 loss to the Visalia Rawhide on Monday night.
Ryan Castellani (W, 4-8) retired the first seven he faced in his start for the Nuts (12-19; 38-63) before the Rawhide (13-18; 59-42) posted their first big inning. Cody Regis plated the first runs of the game with a two-run, bouncing single into right. Henry Castillo capped the three-run third with a RBI fielder's choice.
The Rawhide plated four, two-out runs in the fifth. Castillo delivered a two-run single on his way to a five RBI night. Grant Heyman smashed a two-run shot.
Castellani was done after five innings in which he surrendered seven hits and seven runs.
Justin Donatella (L, 3-1) worked six innings in his start for the Rawhide and allowed two runs with seven strikeouts and no walks. Josh Fuentes had one of the RBI with a single in the fourth. He finished 2-for-4 with a double. Dom Nunez smashed a solo home run in the fifth.
