Minnesota United FC News Release
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (JANUARY 25, 2011) ¬" The NSC Minnesota Stars released their 2011 schedule Tuesday after the North American Soccer League finalized all fixtures for the league ¬â¢s inaugural campaign. The Stars open 2011 on the road against the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday, April 9. The team ¬â¢s first home game is Saturday April 30 against Carolina, who knocked the Stars from the playoffs last season.
¬ÅI ¬â¢m really excited about the schedule, ¬Â Stars Head Coach and Director of Soccer Operations Manny Lagos said. ¬ÅI think it ¬â¢s very balanced and professional, and so many weekend games will be great for both the fans and the coaches. ¬Â
The 28-game NASL schedule is balanced, with each team playing 14 games at home and 14 away. All eight teams will play their competition four times. The NSC Minnesota Stars will play all home games at the 8,500-seat NSC Stadium in Blaine, Minn.
Each team is responsible for establishing game times. The NSC Minnesota Stars will announce kick-off times and game-day promotions in the near future.
Season tickets are available now by calling (763) 792-7355 and include 14 ¬Åflex ¬Â tickets for use at any game and one exhibition or Lamar Hunt US Open Cup game. Season ticket prices start at just $135 for adult general admission. Single-game tickets will be available in March.
