FC Tampa Bay and NASL Release 2011 Season Schedule

TAMPA, Fla. (January 25, 2011) - FC Tampa Bay (FCTB) and the North American Soccer League (NASL) today announced the 2011 season schedule. The FCTB regular season schedule consists of 28 games total - 14 home and 14 away. Between April 9th and September 24th, FCTB will play each NASL team four times, twice at home at Al Lang Stadium and twice on the road.

Twelve of the 14 home games will be played on weekends or holidays, including nine Saturday night matches, two games on Sunday evening and the annual Fourth of July extravaganza against Miami FC/Strikers 2011 on Monday, July 4. All Saturday and Wednesday matches will kick off at 7 p.m., with the remaining two Sunday and 4th of July home games kicking off at 6 p.m.

FCTB kicks off the 2011 regular season on April 9th at 7 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium against the Montreal Impact. Following the season opener, FCTB will host the reigning Second Division champions Puerto Rico Islanders on Sunday, April 17th.

The Coastal Cup rivalry between FCTB and the Strikers continues this season. The Strikers host the first of the four matches on May 14th followed by the traditional Fourth of July game when FCTB will host the Strikers on Monday, July 4th, at 6 p.m.

FCTB concludes its season with back-to-back home games on September 17th against NSC Minnesota Stars and September 24th against the Strikers.

Highlights of the 2011 schedule:

. Three home games in both April and May

. Twelve of the 14 home games played on weekends (and 4th of July)

. Three of five games in both July and August played on the road

. Fourteen-day midseason break from June 19 through July 3

FCTB will start its preseason training camp on March 1, 2011 and will announce its preseason match schedule at a later date.
