League Releases 2011 NASL Season Schedule

EDMONTON, AB. - After a long exhibition season in 2010 and an even longer off-season, the North American Soccer League has released the league schedule for the 2011 NASL season and FC Edmonton is ready to play.

FC Edmonton's inaugural season kicks off on the beach on April 9 as they take on Miami FC/Strikers 2011 in Miami. Edmonton will continue its early season road swing, making stops in Atlanta, to take on the Silverbacks, and Carolina before coming home to face Canadian rivals Montreal Impact in its Home Opener on May 1.

"Having the schedule in place means our club can really start preparing for the season, both on the pitch and in the front office," said General Manager Mel Kowalchuk. "The players are looking forward to finally playing a league game and our Account Executives are ready to put people in the seats at Foote Field for May 1 and beyond."

After the game against the Impact, FC Edmonton will head back out on the road for two games in Atlanta and Tampa before returning home to face the NSC Minnesota Stars on May 22, followed by a visit from FC Tampa Bay on May 31.
