SLOW THE ROLL

Friday night's overtime loss was Peoria's first defeat since November 3 in Mississippi, a winning streak that spanned four games. The overtime loss is Peoria's first such defeat of the season after both their previous losses came in regulation. Peoria is now 2-1 in games that go past regulation through eight overall games this season.

MISSING SUMMERS

Tonight will be the second of two games for the Rivermen without suspended winger Matt Summers after the veteran was issued a boarding penalty and game misconduct in the first period of last Saturday's game against Knoxville. Summers missed last night's game and will be inactive again tonight, but is eligible to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale.

BREAKING THE SEAL

Luke Sandler's game-tying goal in the third period last night accounted for Sandler's first professional point, in his sixth pro game, all with the Rivermen. Also notching his first pro point was Terrence Wallin, who had an assist on Dan Bremner's goal at 8:08 of the third period.

THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH

Peoria out-shot Louisiana 49-20 Friday night, marking the most shots on goal for the Rivermen all season. The IceGators enetered Friday leading the league in fewest SOG/game against, while the Rivermen offense had been eighth in the league in shots on goal. After last night's contest, Peoria now leads the league in fewest shots on goal allowed per game, while Louisiana's per-game total fell to third in the league.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight's contest the Rivermen and IceGators will play once more at Carver Arena tomorrow afternoon at 3:05. After that the Rivermen remain home for a pair of games next Friday and Saturday against the expansion Macon Mayhem. Following the games against Macon Peoria will hit the road December 3-5 for a game in Knoxville followed by a pair at Mississippi.
