
Northern Arizona Wranglers Dominate Bay Area Panthers 49-20

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Wranglers showed out in their home opener by beating the Panthers by 29 points.
After losing their first game in Vegas to the Knight Hawks, The Wranglers bounced back this week at home and pulled off an impressive 49-20 victory over the Bay Area Panthers.
The Wranglers were firing on all cylinders in their first home game of 2022. It was a great team win with complete performances from all three phases.
After allowing a touchdown on the Panthers opening drive and going down seven points, the Wranglers marched down and matched the score immediately. The first quarter ended tied at seven points.
Halfway through the second quarter, the game was tied at 14 apiece. Wranglers quarterback Kaleb Barker connected with wide receiver Kevin Stepherson for two touchdowns on consecutive Wranglers possessions. These touchdown drives were separated with an impressive defensive stop from the Wranglers on 4th and goal. This was the turning point in the game, in which the Wranglers completely took over.
In a flash, the Wranglers were up 28-14 against the Panthers at halftime.
After halftime, the Wranglers kept their foot on the gas by outscoring the Panthers 14-0 in the third quarter. The game ended with a score of 49-20 in favor of the Northern Arizona Wranglers.
The Wranglers defense forced five total turnovers, including an interception returned for a touchdown from linebacker Tramond Lofton. The offense was electric, Kaleb Barker was tremendously improved from his first IFL game last week in Vegas. He finished the day with three touchdown passes and only three incompletions along with it. Wranglers wide receiver Glen Gibbons Jr. ended the game with three total touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving.
