North Carolina FC Fall to Toronto FC II on the Road

TORONTO, ON - North Carolina FC fell short of Toronto FC II during Friday evening's match, dropping three points to the Canadian side. The contest featured the professional debut of NCFC Academy product Drew Kerr, who entered the match as a second-half substitute, as well as Josh Coan's debut in the captain's band. Talen Maples, Luca Petrasso, and Paul Rothrock each added individual goals to lift Toronto to the 3-0 result. North Carolina FC will look to bounce back from tonight's match next week, as John Bradford's team faces the Chattanooga Red Wolves for Railhawks Throwback Night.

Toronto's Talen Maples opened the scoring in tonight's match, giving the Canadian side the 1-0 advantage in the 63rd minute. Two minutes later, Luca Petrasso scored his first goal of the season to double Toronto's lead, capitalizing on a cross from Kobe Franklin. Franklin's assist was his second of the night, his first paving the way for Maples' goal. Later, in the 73rd minute, Paul Rothrock collected Toronto's third goal of the night to seal the 3-0 win.
