
Norsemen Fall to Wings to End Opening Weekend

ABERDEEN, SD - The veteran offense of the Aberdeen Wings defeated the St. Cloud Norsemen 10-0 on Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen.
The Wings took advantage of the momentum from Friday's win and saw both Liam Fraser and Thomas Manty score within the first 29 seconds to give the Wings the 2-0 lead.
After the break, the Wings continued their scoring moment as Payton Matsui netted a powerplay goal just seven seconds into the period. Natan Vertes and Fraser would tack on two additional goals before the two teams met for an extended altercation.
After the penalties, Nico DeVita scored before Michael Reed would cap off the period with his first of the season for the 7-0 advantage.
In the third, the Wings added three more goals from Jakob Stender, Christian Abrams, and Matsui to complete the 10-0 decision.
After the loss, the Norsemen fall to 0-2-0-0 on the season.
The Norsemen will return to action on Friday, October 23 on the against the Minot Minotauros at 7:35 PM. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game live on the Lyon Sheet Metal and Heating Norsemen Network on HockeyTV.
