Normal CornBelters News Release
O'FALLON, MO - The Normal CornBelters, presented by the Illinois Corn Farmers, kept rolling on their current road trip as they downed the River City Rascals in O'Fallon, Missouri Tuesday night 5-2. The CornBelters had just taken two of three from the Evansville Otters over the weekend.
Normal sent righty Ryan Sheldon to the mound and watched as he handled the Rascals with ease, breezing through eight innings of three hit ball, giving up one unearned run all while striking out six. Mike LaLuna worked the ninth for the `Belters and gave up a run and three hits, but struck out two Rascals to nail down the win.
The CornBelters game Sheldon all he needed in the third inning as Ross McCoy drove in all four of his runs on one swing with a grand slam, his 12 home run of the year as he finished the night 1-3 with a walk as well. Asif Shah had a solid night at the dish, going 3-4 with three singles. Brad Agustin also had a multi hit game, going 2-4 with a double.
Normal is in O'Fallon again Wednesday night as Normal will send right hander Bobby Pritchett to the mound with the game set to start at 7:05pm.
