Normal CornBelters Announce Individual Game Promotions Schedule

Normal, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have announced the release of their individual game promotions schedule for their fifth anniversary season. The CornBelters will play their first regular season home game of the 2014 season ("CEFCU Opening Night") at The Corn Crib on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. versus the Evansville Otters.

"We're really excited about all of our promotions this season, and we know our fans will be too," said CornBelters General Manager, Kyle Kreger. "Our weekly promotions are some of the best I've seen, and our individual night promotions supplement them very well. As we head into our 5th anniversary season, there's no better time to be a fan of CornBelters baseball!"

CEFCU opening night on May 16 will kick the fifth anniversary season off with a magnet schedule giveaway presented by CEFCU. Also, taking place that night is our weekly CEFCU fireworks Friday which includes a postgame fireworks show. In addition every Friday is "Salute to Armed Forces Night" which recognizes active military members and veterans in attendance.

"At CEFCU, we're thrilled that another great season of baseball is about to start with the Normal CornBelters! This year's season will kick-off with the annual CEFCU Opening Night, where fans can pick up magnet schedules! And, the Credit Union is excited to continue to sponsor CEFCU Fireworks Fridays with the Normal CornBelters," said CEFCU Vice President Sue Portscheller. "We encourage the community to come out, sit on the field after a great baseball game, and enjoy a fabulous firework show!"

June 7 will feature our Washington Tornado Relief Night. The Washington, Ill. area was hit hard this past year with a tornado and the CornBelters are hosting a night to help show the community is still there supporting them to help them re-build fields and purchase equipment that was lost during the storm.

"We are glad to have the opportunity to continue to help with the cause of helping those whose lives were devastated by the Tornado's in Washington last year," said CornBelters President Steve Malliet. "Now is the time everyone needs to step up and keep the awareness level high for the needs of the Washington Community."

Back again this year is Cancer Survivors Night presented by the Community Cancer Center and will take place on June 8. This is a special night for all in attendance. The CornBelters will recognize all cancer survivors and all those who have been affected by cancer in their lives that are in attendance that evening.

"The Community Cancer Center is honored once again to be participating in the survivors' game this year," said Executive Director Joe Prosser. "It is truly a way to honor all the cancer survivors in the community. We are very excited to be there to share the day with them."

4-H Night will be on June 13. This will include all kinds of fun games and events sponsored by various 4-H groups around the Bloomington-Normal community.

The Girl Scouts will fill the stadium on June 14. All Girl Scouts are encouraged to get their group together and come out for a fun night at the Corn Crib.

July 23 will be Eat Pork Night and will feature pork samples and special pricing on pork products during the game.

The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America will be in the park on July 26. After the game, all Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout packs in attendance will get to campout on the field.

Bring the dogs to the park on Aug. 2 for the Bark at the Park Night. All fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends with them for a great night of watching baseball with man's best friend.

Eat Beef Night will be Aug. 23. The night will feature beef samples and special pricing during the game on beef products.

Aug. 28 is the final home game of the season for the CornBelters and will feature Fan Appreciation Night. This game is all about giving back to the fans that have supported the CornBelters over the season. There will be many fun surprises and prizes for fans. This is a game that fans do not want to miss.

"This schedule represents a lot of affordable, summertime fun for families throughout McLean County."

Individual game tickets for the season will go on sale April 12 during the Town of Normal Easter Egg Hunt. The event will take place at The Corn Crib from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Mid-Illini Credit Union Box Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
