Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-After hazardous travel conditions made it impossible for the Lincoln Stars to visit the Waterloo Black Hawks Saturday, the teams have settled on a make-up date on the eve of the 2012 Clark Cup playoffs.
The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 1 at 3:05 PM. Waterloo is currently two points behind Lincoln for second place in the USHL Western Conference. The fourth and final regular season meeting between the teams will now be played less than two weeks before the conclusion of the United States Hockey League's 2011-2012 slate.
Fans who purchased tickets for Saturday's game will be allowed to make exchanges for comparable seats at any of the Hawks' 14 remaining regular season home games. All tickets must be exchanged for replacements, including those which will be used for the April 1st Waterloo-Lincoln make-up date. Fans in physical possession of their February 4th tickets may exchange them whenever the Black Hawks Box Office is open. Those who ordered online or by phone intending to pick up tickets at the Box Office will call window on game day may also call (319) 291-7680 to exchange their tickets. Seats at each game are subject to availability.
Black Hawks president Doug Miller says the team wanted to give fans as many options as possible.
"We want to see our fans at the rink whenever they are able to join us, so our organization was in agreement from top to bottom on this unprecedented exchange policy," Miller said. "I hope many who were planning to be here Saturday still come out April 1st for what could be a tremendously important matchup."
Heavy snows and high winds in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa led to numerous travel warnings from transportation officials. The Hawks head that direction for their upcoming games this weekend in Sioux City and Omaha. The next home games on the schedule at Young Arena are on February 17th against the Fargo Force and February 18th versus the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Tickets for both 7:05 contests are on sale now from waterlooblackhawks.com.
