
NJ/NY Gotham FC Sign Taylor Aylmer and Claire Winter to National Team Replacement Player Contracts

Harrison, N.J. - NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has signed midfielders Taylor Aylmer and Claire Winter to National Team Replacement Player contracts ahead of the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup presented by Secret Deodorant. Both players have been training with the team throughout the preseason and will be officially joining the squad as Evelyne Viens (CAN), Estelle Johnson (CMR), Carli Lloyd (USA), and Margaret "Midge" Purce (USA) are away on international duty.
Aylmer is a 2020 graduate of nearby Rutgers University. As team captain during her senior campaign, she started all 21 games and led the team with nine assists on the season earning her All-Big Ten Third Team and All-Region Second Team honors.
A native of California, Winter played collegiately at UCLA and was part of the team that won the 2013 Division I National Championship. As a senior, she co-captained her team and logged a total of 918 minutes with 11 starts. After graduating in 2017, Winter went on to play professionally with Puerto Rico Sol FC and RCD Espanyol de Barcelona.
