Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

St. Patrick's Day saw another hard fought battle between the Youngstown SteelHounds and the Colorado Eagles with a back and forth, defensive struggle going in the favor of the Eagles, 2-1 at the Chevrolet Centre.

Youngstown struck first late in the first period thanks to Stephen Margeson's goal to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Riley Nelson recorded a power play goal for Colorado at the 17:00 minute mark of the second period to tie the game at one after two periods.

The third period was a war of attrition with both teams jockeying for the go ahead goal with Seth Leonard getting his second goal in as many nights to put the Eagles up 2-1. Paulo Colaiacovo was able to preserve the lead by stopping 25 of 26 shots to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.

The Hounds are now winless in their last four as they drop to 31-19-10 (72pts) and are clinging to their fourth seed in the Northern Conference Playoffs. These two teams will finish their regular season series on Sunday afternoon with "Fan Appreciation Day" and a special start time of 4:05 with a skate with the Hounds after the game. Tickets are still available by calling (330) 747-PUCK.
