Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the commitment of the team's 2nd round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, Nicolas Hague, to an OHL Standard Player Agreement with the organization.

Hague's 6'6, 207 lb frame catches your attention as soon as he steps on the ice. He is a confident player with a calm, controlled presence who handles the puck decisively in both zones. A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Hague spent the entire 2014-15 season playing for the GOJHL's Kitchener Dutchmen, recording 11 points and 70 penalty minutes in 43 games. He added 12 points in 10 playoff games for the Dutchmen. Hague represented Hockey Canada at the 2014 World Under-17 Challenge in Sarnia - Lambton, ON last December; scoring two goals for Team Canada White. He was also named GOJHL Rookie of the Year for the 2014-15 season.

Hague participated in Hockey Canada's U-18 Selection Camp in Calgary earlier this month alongside Steelheads teammates Sean Day & Michael McLeod.

"Nic is a big skilled defenceman who had numerous options to continue his development, we are pleased he has chosen the Steelheads. Nic will become a very key member of our hockey club in the coming seasons" said Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager, James Boyd.

Hague is looking forward to the upcoming season, adding "I'm excited to be joining the Steelheads and eager to start training camp next week."

We would like to welcome Nic and the Hague family to the organization. Hague will join all participating players at the 2015 Steelheads Training Camp in Mississauga on August 31st.
