Minnesota Lynx News Release

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced that All-Star center Nicky Anosike underwent arthroscopic surgery for a lateral meniscal tear in her right knee yesterday, Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Tennessee. The operation went as expected and Anosike is expected to be fully recovered when the Lynx start training camp for the 2010 season. Anosike sat out the final four games of the 2009 season.

Originally drafted by the Lynx with the 16th pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, Anosike completed her second season in Minnesota in 2009, leading the team in all five major counting categories -- scoring (13.2 ppg), rebounding (7.4 rpg), assists (2.7 apg), steals (2.70 spg) and blocked shots (0.93 rpg) -- while logging 29.9 mpg. In doing so, the 2009 All-Star became just the second player in WNBA history to accomplish that feat - Indiana's Tamika Catchings being the other.

Anosike, a member of the 2008 WNBA All-Rookie Team, set franchise bests in 2009 with averages of 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals. She also ranked 2nd in the WNBA in

steals, 7th in rebounds, 10th in FG accuracy (49.1%), 12th in blocks, 18th in scoring and 23rd in assists (3rd among post players) while shooting 69.6% from the FT line. Additionally, the six-foot-three center posted seven double-doubles on the season, boosting her career total to 12 and breaking franchise records in both categories.

Lynx season tickets for the 2010 season are now on sale. To purchase your season tickets, or to find out more information on how to become a Lynx season ticket holder, call 612-673-8400.
