Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals are hard at work in preparation for the 2004-2005 hockey season. The entire staff has been hitting the street all summer long. Two people will literally hit the streets this weekend while participating in one of the biggest Flint events of the summer.
Vice President & Head Coach, and Flint area citizens, Robbie S. Nichols and his wife, Nellie, will be running in the Bobby Crim 10-mile road race to be held through the streets of downtown Flint on Saturday, August 28, 2004.
The Bobby Crim Race is an international event that attracts some of the world's elite long distance runners. There is also solid participation from athletes throughout the United States and a great representation from the citizens of Flint and Genesee County.
"We are looking forward to the race and to participate in something very special for our city," said Nichols. "Nellie and I have been training for this event and we will have a great time. One of my mottos has been "Expect to Win"...on Saturday, I simply "Expect to Finish". Our entire organization sends warm congratulations to all coordinators and volunteers of the Crim Race and wish the best for a very successful weekend."
The Flint Generals return to regular season action on Friday, October 15, 2004 hosting the Muskegon Fury at Perani's Hockey World Arena & Event Center beginning at 7:35 p.m. Season tickets are still available at TicketMaster at the Event Center by calling (810) 744-0580.
