Ryan Strome scored the lone goal in a shootout, as the Niagara IceDogs escaped the WFCU Centre with a 4-3 win on Friday night.
Ben Johnson had two goals and Nick Ebert chipped in three assists, as the Spits dropped their fourth straight exhibition start.
Trailing 3-1 after 40 minutes, Johnson got the Spits back in it just 15 seconds into the third period, blasting one past goalie Bo Bessette from the right wing. His second of the night tied the game on the power play at 6:05.
In the shootout, Juraj Bezuch, Josh Ho-Sang and Kerby Rychel were stopped, as were Brook Hiddink and Brett Ritchie before Strome beat Pavelka through the legs to end the game.
Pavelka made 31 saves in goal for Windsor. Chris Festarini stopped 17 shots through the opening 40 minutes and Bessette 15 in the third.
The Spits wrap up their exhibition season on Sunday afternoon when the Sarnia Sting pay a visit to the WFCU Centre. Gametime is 2:05 PM.
