Q & A with Chad Sosebee
During the road trip to Evansville we sat down with the most recent record holder for the Richmond Roosters, Chad Sosebee. In the Roosters 8-3 win over the Otters on Saturday night, Sosebee collected his eleventh win of the season, tying him with Chris Spigner for the record for wins in one season.
Q: How did it feel tying the team record for wins in a season?
CS: I realized I had tied the record after the game was over and it felt pretty good.
Q: Which would you prefer? Individual accomplishments like setting records, or team accomplishments such as the two Frontier League Championships you have won with this organization?
CS: By far the team accomplishments are better, I would rather win a championship than set a record.
Q: Do you feel you have a good chance at breaking or tying the Frontier League record for wins in a season (Set by Brian Scarecell 1998 and equaled by Rick Blanc in 2001, both were playing for Chillicothe at the time)?
CS: I don't know, it would be tough. I have been lucky to get this many so far.
Q: What is your career highlight?
CS: Winning back to back championships with the Roosters in 2001 and 2002 is the best so far.
Q: What are you plans for the off season and possibly next baseball season since you are aging out of the Frontier League after this year?
CS: I am not really sure yet. I am going to go back home (Temple, GA) and work. I will see how things go and how I feel next spring.
