NEWS 88.9 and the Saint John Sea Dogs are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership that will bring exclusive and comprehensive live radio coverage of the 2006-2007 Sea Dogs to Saint John and area fans.

NEWS 88.9 will broadcast the entire Saint John Sea Dogs regular and post season home and away games, and will do so with a strong FM signal that covers a large portion of central and southern New Brunswick allowing more listeners to cheer on the home team as well as giving fans inside Harbour Station an opportunity to catch the play-by-play action "live" on the radio while watching the game.

Home game coverage kicks-off on Friday, September 15 at Harbour Station when the Sea Dogs face the Rimouski Oceanic at 7:30 p.m. The Sea Dogs first road game will be September 22 against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

"We are thrilled to be entering into this partnership with the Sea Dogs and be able to showcase the significant talent and community spirit they will be bringing to the ice this season," says Mark Campbell, Director of News and Programming for NEWS 88.9. "We feel it is a tremendous fit for our station" and a perfect compliment to our sports line-up that already includes Ottawa Senators hockey, Blue Jays baseball and NFL Sunday and Monday night football.

The Saint John Sea Dogs hockey organization is pleased to have been able to reach an agreement with NEWS 88.9 to broadcast our games this season, says David Turk, Executive Director of the Saint John Sea Dogs hockey club. "It's a win for our team and a win for the listeners. The more games that are broadcast, the greater the awareness of the team, the players, and the sport overall throughout the Maritimes."

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) will be holding its 2006 annual session and entry draft in Charlottetown this week. For the second consecutive year, the Sea Dogs have the first overall pick in the draft. It will be held Saturday.

The play-by-play host for the 2006/2007 broadcast season will be announced next week.
