Newcomers Lead Grand Prairie Past Airhogs

Grand Prairie, TX. Newcomer Dimitri Camerano was brilliant giving the AirHogs a much needed quality start lasting seven innings allowing only one run on five hits, walking just one batter and striking out two while picking up his first career win. Losing pitcher Joel Kirsten also lasted seven innings but gave up four runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out one. Both pitchers threw less than a hundred pitches.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when the AirHogs got on the board scoring two runs. Chad Gabriel opened the fifth with a walk and J.B. Tucker followed with a double to the right field wall scoring Gabriel and advancing to third on the throw home. Jonathan Dziomba picked up his first professional hit and RBI singling to the shortstop and scoring Tucker to give the AirHogs the 2-0 lead.

The AirHogs added two more the very next inning. Cesar Nicolas reached with a bunt single and Conroy roped his fourth triple of the season into the right field corner to put the AirHogs ahead 3-0. Javier Brito then lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Conroy making it 4-0.

Fort Worth finally got on the board in the eighth on a solo homerun from Ryan Patterson which proved to be their only run of the night.

Grand Prairie would put the game away in the bottom half of the frame plating three more runs to give them a 7-1 lead. Mike Conroy walked to open the inning and Chad Gabriel singled to center to put runners at the corners. J.B. Tucker followed with an RBI single bringing home Conroy and pushing the lead to four. Jonathan Dziomba picked up his third hit of the night and was robbed of his second career RBI as Gabriel was thrown out at the plate trying to score. Drew Holder then singled to the third basemen scoring Tucker to give the AriHogs a 6-1 lead. Aaron Garza reached on an error bringing home Dziomba before Fort Worth could stop the bleeding.

Making his first career professional start AirHog second basemen Jonathan Dziomba was three for four with an RBI and a run scored. Mike Conroy was two for three with an RBI and J.B. Tucker knocked in two runs in the contest.
