Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, got three goals apiece from new pickups Jamar Beasley and Johnny Topete as the Fury held on to second place in the Pacific Division with a 10-6 victory over the Turlock Express on Saturday at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Beasley was acquired from Seattle and Topete from San Diego.

The first quarter featured the two newcomers for the Fury getting their first points with Ontario. Beasley got his first goal with the Fury and his sixth on the season. Topete recorded his first points on the season with a goal and an assist in the first quarter of play.

The Fury recorded four goals over the first two quarters of play to take a 4-1 lead. Turlock added two goals in the second quarter to cut the Fury lead to one, 4-3, going into halftime.

The second half saw the first five minutes go by with a solid offensive attack from the Fury but finally got on the board with Beasley's second goal of the night to go up 5-3.

Turlock answered back with an Adrian Gutierrez goal almost three minutes later. The Fury stepped up the scoring with three consecutive goals. Tiguinho scored two and Daniel Villela scoring the other.

The 8-4 lead would not hold for long as Turlock answered with 14 seconds left in the third quarter. The Fury led 8-5 going into the fourth quarter.

Turlock player-coach Enrique Tovar scored early in the fourth to cut the Fury lead to 8-6. Goals a minute and a half apart by Beasley and Topete, both hat trick goals, gave the Fury a 10-6 lead.

The lead would hold up and was preserved with a late Alexis Apodaca save with a few seconds remaining.

Other offensive production came from Tiguinho, who recorded a five-point game to put him at 41 points on the season and continues to hold the franchise mark for points in a season.

The Fury hold a 9-5 record on the year and move a game back from San Diego. The Fury now head into a matchup with third-place Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon (3 p.m. kickoff) for another pivotal matchup as they continue a push for the playoffs.
