New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls will face the Montreal Impact in an Eastern Conference Semifinal series of the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs. The series gets underway on Sunday, October 30, with the first match in Montreal. Kick time and broadcast information will be determined following the final Western Conference knockout round match later this evening.
New York will host the second leg next Sunday, November 6, at Red Bull Arena.
Montreal advanced to the conference semifinals by defeating D.C. United in the one-game knockout round, 4-2, on Thursday night at RFK Stadium in D.C.
The Red Bulls avoided the knockout round by finishing first in the Eastern Conference for the second-consecutive season, and third time in the last four years. New York begins its seventh-straight playoff campaign, the longest such streak amongst major professional teams in the New York metro area.
