
New York Red Bulls Signs NYRB II Midfielder Amos Shapiro-Thompson to Short-Term Loan Ahead of Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup Match

HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II midfielder Amos Shapiro-Thompson to a short-term loan, the club announced today.
The midfielder will be available for the Red Bulls' home match against D.C. United tonight in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Round of 32 contest will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on U.S. Soccer YouTube and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app, and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Shapiro-Thompson, 23, has made six appearances for New York Red Bulls II this season after signing an MLS NEXT Pro contract in March of 2023. The midfielder has logged 480 minutes this season and leads the team in shots up to this point. The Boston College product was drafted in the third round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by the New York Red Bulls.
Following Tuesday's match, the New York Red Bulls will host the 22nd New York Derby against New York City FC on Saturday, May 13 at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on MLS Season pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
