New York Red Bulls II News Release

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II have signed left back Allen Yanes to a USL contract, the club announced today. Yanes joins NYRB II after three seasons with Antigua Guatemala Fútbol Club.

Yanes, 20, born in Orange County, California, began with Antigua GFC in the 2015-16 season. During his tenure, Yanes tallied 63 starts, 73 appearances, 5,764 minutes played and one goal. He helped Antigua to three-straight Apertura titles in Liga Nacional de Guatemala (the highest professional division in the country).

"Allen joins us with Concacaf Champions League experience," NYRB II head coach John Wolyniec said. "That being said, we believe Allen has a high ceiling and NYRB II will be another step along his development path. We look forward to his growth."

Alongside domestic competitions, Yanes has represented the Guatemalan National team at the U-17, U-20 and senior national team level. Yanes started and played the full 90 for the U-17s in seven matches, including a 3-1 win over Derrick Etienne, Jr.'s Haiti U-17 squad on April 9, 2013. He was also on Guatemala U-20s squad that faced Michael Amir Murillo's Panama team on Jan. 21, 2015.

Yanes also competed in the Concacaf Champions League tournament during the 2016-17 season. The left back started and played the full 90 of the final match of the group stage against Alianza FC. Yanes was a part of Antigua's 18-man squad when the team faced the New York Red Bulls during CCL group stage.

Transaction: New York Red Bulls sign Allen Yanes to a USL contract on July 11, 2018.
