
New York Red Bulls Goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci Undergoes Hamstring Surgery

HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci underwent hamstring surgery on his right leg, the club announced today. Marcucci picked up the injury in his most recent appearance for New York Red Bulls II last Sunday against Columbus and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season.
Marcucci was selected No. 67 overall in the Fourth Round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls and signed to an MLS contract on September 11, 2021. On June 22, 2023, the 24-year-old signed a new two-year contract through 2025 with an option for 2026 and 2027.
The Pennsylvania native has appeared in 53 matches over three seasons for New York Red Bulls II with a 1.60 Goals Against Average and ten clean sheets. The goalkeeper has 184 saves in that span, which is the second most in New York Red Bulls II history.
