Iowa Barnstormers News Release

Des Moines, IA -The Arena Football League's Iowa Barnstormers today announced the franchise entered into a new three-year radio broadcast rights agreement with Citadel Media Center of Iowa, which will broadcast every Barnstormers game live on its local ESPN radio station and feature longtime media personalities Marty Tirrell and Larry Cotlar as the broadcast team.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Barnstormers management indicated that Citadel has purchased the exclusive radio broadcast rights to Iowa Barnstormers football through the 2012 season. In a separate announcement, Citadel officials indicated the Barnstormers will remain on the station's popular ESPN AM 1700 "The Champ," and that Tirrell will handle the play-by-play duties with Cotlar providing color commentary.

"The Barnstormers and ESPN radio are a perfect fit for our current fans and expanding our fan base beyond Central Iowa," said Barnstormers General Manager John Pettit, noting that the live audio broadcast will also be streamed for free over the Internet this season. "We are excited about the opportunity to expose as many fans as possible to the Barnstormers' return to the Arena Football League, and this agreement is significant to achieving that goal."

The Barnstormers open the sixteen-game 2010 AFL regular season in Des Moines against the Chicago Rush on Friday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. Season tickets remain on sale and individual single-game tickets go on sale Thursday, March 4 at 9 a.m. For more information, fans should call (515) 633-2255.
