Niagara IceDogs News Release
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about another key step in the push towards a new spectator facility for the City of St. Catharines. This coming Monday, May 9th the spectator facility is going to be on the agenda at the St. Catharines City Council meeting and there will be the first key vote by the Mayor and Council regarding the facility. While a vote of yes would not be the final step, if the results of this vote are a no, it will mean no to the hopes of a new spectator facility.
Monday's vote will certainly be a key one if we hope to have this spectator facility become a reality and we need your continued support to help show the Mayor and council that this is something we want to see happen. At the bottom of this e-mail you will find a list of all the city councilors along with their e-mail addresses. We encourage all of you to take a moment and e-mail all these politicians to let them know you support a New Spectator Facility for St. Catharines.
Also, we encourage as many of you as possible to come out in person on Monday and show your support in person at the council meeting. The meeting takes place Monday, May 9th at the Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall (50 Church St.) and it all gets started at 6:30pm. A strong showing of support at the vote itself could go a long way in creating an impression on council. We want to make sure that the views of the few who oppose the facility don't overshadow all those who are in favour of it and the only way to ensure that is by showing up and having our presence felt.
Finally, attached to this e-mail, you will find a press release on the formation of The NEW Garden City Complex Advocacy Committee (GCCAC), a new committee of private citizens that has been formed to help voice their support for a new St. Catharines Entertainment and Sports Complex. The press release covers their reasons for forming the committee and brings up some strong points on why St. Catharines needs a new spectator facility.
Thank you again for all your support of the IceDogs and the potential new St. Catharines Spectator Facility. None of this would be possible without all of your support.
Cheers,
Wade Graham
