Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - Rapid City Rush fans can look forward to a new and improved Rapid City Rush team website later this month. Rush announced they will soon be unveiling a new website with a new look and design at the team's current URL address, www.RapidCityRush.com.

"This is a very exciting time for us," said General Manager Jason Rent. "We have had so much success this year, both on and off the ice, and we feel that this website will adequately reflect these successes as well as future successes."

Fans can look forward to several features on the new website, according to Marketing/Public Relations Director Darcy Zandstra, including a larger screen display for easier navigation throughout the site. "We have removed the dual navigation bars and will increase the size of the overall website for more information to be displayed on your computer screen rather than having to scroll as much to view the details on a particular page. We've tried to simplify the entire site and make overall visits to the site last longer with less distractions or headaches."

In addition to making the website easier to move around, Zandstra adds that the site will be much more time sensitive with the information provided. "We've heard the suggestions and comments of our fans this season and are working hard to make our Rush site truly a fan's site. We've added more photo galleries, links to other multi-media groups, and video highlights."

While there will be several new features on the new-and-improved RapidCityRush.com, one of the current sections not making the upgrade is that of the message board.

"We had hoped we could continue to offer the message board to our fans, but knew this season would be a trial run," said Rent. "The message board wasn't as well received as we had hoped and we ran into several issues with spam messages being posted and the occasional negative and mean-spirited talk about the Rush organization. We feel we can offer a better site even without offering the message board."The exact date of the new website release has not been finalized, but Zandstra expects no later than July 1 for its debut. The team will make an announcement when the date has been officially determined and fans will not need to change any bookmarks they have, as the address will remain, www.RapidCityRush.com.

Meanwhile, Rush is still accepting payments for season tickets for the 2009 - 10 Rush hockey season. Season ticket packages start for as little as $399. Call the Rush office at 605.716.PUCK (7825) for more information.
