Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - For the 2008-09 Western Hockey League season, the Prince Albert Raiders are launching two new community initiatives aimed at young fans.
Northern Lights Casino Rookie Section
The Raiders Rookie Section returns this season as a result of the support of the Prince Albert Grand Council and Northern Lights Casino. At each of the 36 Raider regular s season home games, a group of 30 children and 5 supervisors from PAGC schools will be in attendance.
"This initiative has been successful in the past and builds great synergy between the Raiders and the Grand Council," says Bruce Vance, Raiders Director of Marketing and Media Relations. "We approached the Northern Lights Casino over the summer about teaming up with the Grand Council to bring students from area schools to games again this season. It is a great opportunity for many kids who may not attend a Raider game to experience a WHL event."
9 Area Schools Adopted!
A new marketing initiative for the Raiders has been the Adopt-a-school program. Businesses have been given the opportunity to purchase 4 child and 2 adult season tickets for schools in the Prince Albert area. In turn these season tickets are handed over to schools to use as rewards for students who have exhibited positive behavior in the classroom and school in general.
The Raiders are pleased to announce 9 area schools have been adopted so far.
"Students and staff are overwhelmed with the generosity of the businesses," commented Kendra Smith, Raiders Community Relations Director. "The kids are extremely excited with anticipation of the coming season and being able to attend Raider games."
