New Offensive Coordinator for Tiger-Cats

Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
It's official! The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have brought a local boy back home and have named him the team's Offensive Coordinator!
47 year old JAMIE BARRESI, who grew up in the suburban Hamilton valley town of Dundas and played as a quarterback for Hamilton's Cathedral High school, is no stranger to Tiger-Cats Head Coach Greg Marshall. "Our football connection spans some 20 years through football camps, scouting and football clinics. Jamie's an intelligent coach and someone who has coached some very talented quarterbacks in U-S college ranks. Being from the Hamilton area, he'll be a natural fit with the Tiger-Cats. Jamie brings with him the potential for some new and different offensive thinking. I know he'll present the players with some interesting offensive challenges."
While Barresi's coaching resume stretches back to the mid-80's, it does not include CFL experience but that doesn't phase Marshall. "He may not have CFL experience, but he's got lots of coaching experience and every coach has to get his professional league start somewhere."
Barresi started his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Ottawa, where he played quarterback, serving as an assistant from 1981-83 before working as a graduate assistant under legendary coach Joe Paterno at Penn State in 1984 and '85. He returned to the Nittany Lions on staff in 1988, for a five year stint as wide receivers' coach. He spent eight years as quarterbacks coach at Wake Forest before moving to Central Florida University, where he was also quarterbacks coach and was considered an assistant head coach.
Barresi calls his decision to come to Hamilton not only a career step forward but a natural step in his coaching career. According to Barresi, "my job as Offensive Coordinator with the Tiger-Cats will be to create a winning atmosphere among the players. I'm a motivator and I enjoy hard work. Personally, I believe this will be a great experience!"
A proven winner, Barresi's career has helped coach seven teams to U-S bowl games...five at Penn State, one at Florida and one at Wake Forest.
