New Mexico United is excited to announce the winner of the second 2022 End-of-Year Player Award. United goalkeeper Alex Tambakis is the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year Award, joining Justin Portillo as 2022 End-of-Year Player Award winners. This season, Tambakis's achievements included:
A club-high 70 saves
A club-record 7 shutouts
A club-record 1.23 goals against average
A club-record 14 career shutouts in his time with United
30 appearances/30 starts
Awards were voted on by fans, media, and club staff. The remaining award-winners will be announced throughout the week.
